The Metal Theme actually ran slower then the Glass theme - but in the future I can imagine the Metal theme being for less capable video hardware (after it is further optimized).

That could be possibly because the new «Glass» is based in DirectX -hardware rendered-, and the Metal can be the same software-rendered XP engine on-top-minimum-hardware-Avalon, which makes it hard to keep pace of the responsiveness.
Needless to say that for sure the hardware accelerated version will work better on today mid-ranged computers than the software ones.

well.. I'm still going to switch the theme back to windows classic like I did to my windows xp. I like the advanced features and increased sophistication, but I don't want it to stick up my computer.
