A French website, PC Inpact, has posted the official Microsoft product change request forms for Vista SP1 and Windows XP SP3. So just when do our friends from France say Microsoft is planning on releasing our little Service Pack friends? Well, according to them, we will be seeing Vista SP1 a little earlier than previously anticipated:Windows Vista SP1: February 18th or 19thWindows XP SP3: March 23rd or 24thHere are the actual images from the product change request forms:

It's official...MS has confirmed that the "RC1 Refresh 2" build available to Connect users IS RTM.
The current format is only via a reg hack for WU, but ISO and standalone should be coming soon.
IMO those change notifications don't necesarily imply ship dates for sp1, just readiness dates for their support teams given the comment at the bottom.
You'd want support to be up to speed a few days ahead of the actual launch to give you a bit of leeway should things slip [as MS dates generally do :) ]

First, I’d like to say “Thank you” to all of you for your help with the Vista Service Pack 1 beta. It improves on an already great product and your contributions are very much appreciated!
I’d also like to thank Jeff and Wendy for being your guides on this trip and making sure your voice was heard here during the project! As seen here and in many other places, build 18000 is the RTM build. Shortly, we should have images of the final SP1 for you to download from Connect. These are not to be distributed beyond the beta program. They are for your use between now and public availability. I expect that we will have these posted this week.
As outlined on the Windows Vista Blog we will be working on refining the install experience over the next several weeks. Shortly, we’ll have information on how you can you help us with this. Because of your familiarity with Vista SP1 we’re hoping that you can find the time to perform some testing to validate our work in this area. Build 18000 is the final build of Vista SP1 and that won’t change. What we’ll be testing here will be the components that control the install and driver experience for systems.
Be aware that if you have SP1 installed on your machines we might ask you to remove it and reinstall during our upcoming testing. Don’t get everything all nice and configured quite yet! We would appreciate your continued help refining our delivery of SP1 so we’re asking you to stick around, and stay tuned for more information.
Since the full SP1 beta program is over we’ll be doing a bit of cleanup on the web site and in the newsgroups but we’ll keep this newsgroup open and may create others as needed to focus the topic of discussion.
Thanks again for all your help!
Paul
