Last November Microsoft released Virtual Server 2005 R2 with an astonishing price of $99 for standard edition and $199 for enterprise edition. Virtual Server is a direct competitor to Vmware GSX.

Now it seems Vmware strikes back, they are going to make Vmware GSX server free!

Of course VMWare still has a bunch of value added stuff they can charge major bucks for.

This is another example of how competition can be a beautiful thing.

I wonder if MS will end up making Virtual Server free as well.
