Ever wonder why Microsoft hasn't released an HDMI cable for the Xbox 360, or whether the AV port was really capable of digital out? Well, here's your answer: we landed pictures of what appears to be the second Xbox 360 -- the Xbox 360 v2, if you will -- codenamed Zephyr. (The original Xbox 360, if you recall, was codenamed Xenon.) The long rumored about and awaited update to the console won't just feature a new, cooler 65nm processor, it's also finally added an HDMI port for full digital 1080p pleasure, as well as a 120GB drive, just what the doctor ordered. The 120GB drive may or may not come bundled with the kit, we don't yet know, just as we also don't yet know how much a Zephyr 360 is going to run (we imagine it'll go for the same price as currently so they can keep up a little on their expanding margin). But our very kind Xbox insider seemed happy to let us know we'd be able to get them "soon."

DiEPVRiESKiP :- You have been ripped off the xbox360 was never ready in the first place it was released just to get a head start on sony's PS3.

GoodThings2Life :- Yes good idea make M$ screw everyone out of yet more money.

I can't believe that people are so desperate to play games that they will buy such a technically flawed  piece of hardware.

Would anyone buy a car that every time it was driven would overheat and break down ? I dont think so, so why an xbox360? and now 1 year after its release they want everyone to go out and buy the console it should have been.

Technically flawed?  None of the next gen systems are technically flawed.  A very small number of them might have issues, but you run into that with every consumer product.  Sounds like you are just a fanboy of another system.  Maybe you aren't, but if it acts like one and talks like one....

I agree with you DiEP...that was the first thing I thought of when I read this article.  Microsoft should have some form of big discount for people who already bought a 360.  Of course they won't, but I can always wish.

You know, no one who bought a 1st gen 360 was ripped off.

New year, new model, new features. It's as simple as that. Get used to it.

If you want the new features, then buy the new model. Otherwise no waste. I know of a few people who have 3 units, they arn't complaining.

I am certain that if it was possible to to add HDMI or DVI out on the 1st gen 360, then MS will do it as a dongle. They gave us external HD-DVD and I am guessing they will give us a 120GB HDD upgrade.

Have a little faith.

About Spy

Hello world, as they say. I'm in Melbourne Australia and work as a Systems Administrator. I go to work every day with a smile on my face as I just love my work. Our company works across 30+ sites around the state so I travel a bit. We use mostly MS products, IBM hardware and 100% Cisco networking...it's a sweet mix for sure. I've been around Bink's site since it's inception way back when it was just a group on the MS site...that was a while ago. Bink.nu is the leading source of Microsoft news on the web that's for sure and I love being a part of Steven's team. Anyway, hope you enjoy the site.
