To everyone that took part in the Windows Vista beta test (as far as I know, about 20,000), only those that submitted at least 1 bug report will be offered a complimentary copy of Windows Vista Business or Ultimate.

Microsoft sent out a mail to those testers just a few minutes ago which specified that it is being offered as a download only. No media will be mailed, and only currently active, invited members of the Windows Vista technical beta program who filed at least one bug are receiving this offer.

M$ sUx0rz! I was the best tester they'll ever have! I downloaded every ISO they put up! I shared with the world via BT - they should thank me for that! Now I don't get a free Vista because I haven't filed a single bug! So what! I made Vista popular! I'll get a warez one anyway! Anyway, Vista sux0rz! I'll upgrade to Win2k now! Bleah!

This was me saving time for some people posting their comments so that they can have even more free time. Bad jokes aside, I am grateful to Microsoft for this unexpected gift. It was a pleasure, both testing and getting gifts like this.

I submitted severals bug and hasn't got any key.

Don't really matter, since I've got MSDN, but still.

This is a most unexpected gift indeed. I have to thank MS and mostly Bink for posting about MS allowing more beta testers. I have been running vista since last february's CTP. Thanks Bink!

I beta tested win 98, me, 2000, and XP Home.

We always got a complementry copy. As a matter of fact our copy was good for up to ten machines. Even though I only tested XP Home, I got a key for Professional too.

Microsoft really does take care of their testers. But I also have Select and MSDN. So I never really used my keys from beta testing.
