And what are the chances of my Verizon XV6700 being upgradable to this?  [*-)]

I see alot of great improvments, but I dont like the GUI at all, It's just plain ugly! and if this version of WM should reflects Vista, why does it has a start button?

Well, they said it has tight vista integration, not that it's based on Vista,  maybe the kernel is to some extent, but that's were the similarities end.

I'd like to know how performence and stability are for this new version,  lots of people who use WM5 always point to the fact that it crashes/freezes alot.

Their GUI has to support multiple manufacturers. I doubt that a new version of a hand held OS is going to jump up the hardware capabilities even if they do not allow users upgrade (which I have no idea if they (phone/device manufacturers) will or not).

As for the start button...

1. It doesn't say start while in any apps (that have screenshots)

2. The number of total Mobile 6 users compaired to PPC2003 & Mobile 5 is probably higher than the total Vista users compaire to XP & 98

(Mobile 6)/(PPC2003 + Mobile 5) > (Vista)/(98 + XP)

This could imply that they are trying to give the users a hint of direction to what to expect for start.

Chugworth,

The XV6700 will apparently *not* be updated.  I'd received this from

"The Windows Mobile 6 platform (otherwise known as Crossbow ) is a completely different platform. The 6700 will not support this, as the entire carrier specifications and customization was based on the Windows Mobile 2005 (MAGNETO) platform."

hmm, I wonder if I can cross my fingers and pretend that there is a difference between the XV6700 and my PPC 6700.
