These are the fixes that leaked last week, now the fix packs are publicly available. [:D]
Funny how it says "to improve the performance of Windows Vista in certain scenarios".[8-)] Well believe me, it will improve in all scenarios! So download and install these right away. I'm not sure when they will appear through Windows Update.

If people have installed these, and they've noticed a good gain in performence than MS must be doing something right eh?

I hope to read more on these if they do help things along.   Maybe some benchmarks would be nice?

I downloaded and installed the x86 versions without problems.  The Microsoft site was busy, probably because of these so I got a couple of time-outs, but a page refresh fixed that.  The downloads are small, 2meg and 10meg so I was surprised when they took a number of minutes to install.  They both require a reboot and appear to be applied at startup.  I did notice my wireless network came up a lot quicker and will keep an eye out for other improvements.  Here's hoping.

Microsoft's servers must be getting slammed. Between 404 errors and serious sluggishness from Windows Validation I like to never got the downloads started. I'll install them later tonight and report back if I notice any difference.

Definitely seems to be an improvement in wireless network connectivity, boot time and application startup. The only issue I've found is that one of the updates (not sure which one) adds all of the default shortcuts (Documents, Music, Pictures, etc.) back to the Favourite Links box in Windows Explorer. It's hardly a massive job to delete them again, but I prefer to use this box for mapped drives rather than folders.

Well I have been using the computer all day, right after I installed the updates. So far eveything has been fine. I have to say I'm pleased with the performance change. Running applications have been much faster, even web pages are loading quicker. Thanks Microsoft.  Note to Pseudopath, after reading your post I went and checked the favorites link in windows explorer and it did not add and anything!!!!!
