You can change the order of the tabs in this version.  Just a simple click and drag.

Dragging the tabs, and the little magnifying glass for enlarging internet pics, are nothing more than a direct ripoff from the other browsers....and they call these "NEW" features?  And they got the "idea" of the magnifying lens from an intern?  Wow....I'm impressed all right.

Microsoft needs to understand something, just because they've copied a feature from other products into their own...does not define that the feature is new.

I was really hoping that this browser would have been something new entirely...something with different ideas, different perspectives...but it's nothing more than an Aero version of Firefox.

Very disappointing...and I am quite sure that even though the developers for Firefox may find that copying their browser is flattering, the community of users surely find it amusing.

    Hello all,
I have been trying to install ie 7.0 beta 3 for the past few days with no luck at all. All goes well until it stalls on installing core components. I have tried it in safe mode as well with no luck. The install also butchered my IE 6 which I cannot see to reinstall so I am desperate to get Beta 3 going. I have searched all over the web and tried many so called solutions with no luck. Help

I agree with andrewFT65 in that even though IE 7 has been released it is STILL a beta version. You may of course download it to test it but I seriously would not recommend using it as a primary web browser. You are better off sticking with the current version of IE, or use an alternative browser such as Firefox or Opera or even Safari if you're a Mac user.

To xMorpheousx416, you need to back up a little bit. If you care to read this article: http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/asa/archives/008433.html, you would see that tabbed browsing existed prior to its implementation in Opera and Firefox, although speculation is that Opera might have had it even earlier than Firefox. Now I don't mean to claim that one browser is better than the other, but I just find it funny how you speak so condescendingly towards IE 7's tabbed browsing feature and saying that they copied it from Firefox when in reality that isn't so. Secondly, you scoff at the idea that IE 7 advertises some of their features as "new". Yes, they are not "new", but did you think that MAYBE (just maybe) they were comparing these features to their own products, mainly previous versions of Internet Explorer? Nowhere on the IE 7 page do they claim that their new features aren't found anywhere else on the market, they simply say that the features are "new". I understand your cynical tone towards Internet Explorer but I believe you should at least give some credit to the developers who have tried to redesign the interface to make it cleaner, fix as many of the security holes as possible, and even implement popular features such as the tabbed browsing.

Last but not least, this final comment goes to everyone who are expecting something "revolutionary" or "innovative". Technology might be advancing but there are still limitations as to how far we can go. And generally speaking, it is hard to be "original" nowadays. It's much more feasible to research what's hot and attempt to implement that into the design and in the process make it stand out from the competition. Sometimes that's possible, sometimes it's not, but it sure beats being left behind from the crowd.

And just so that people know, I rarely use IE and in fact the only time I ever use it is to acquire updates and/or if I need to check certain websites. My primary browser has been Firefox but until recently I started using Opera ever since version 9 came out. So if you assume that I'm an IE fanboy then you are greatly mistaken; the only reason why I seem to support IE is because I commend them for their efforts in trying to remedy some past mistakes and because in the end I feel that each and every browser has its strengths and weaknesses and applies differently to each and every individual.
