It requires Silverlight, has no search function and lists only less important programs (example: the best GPS program - TomTom - is not listed at all in GPS category!). It also is not running inside of Windows Mobile phone like Apple iPhone App Store, which is running inside of iPhone...

This application could be useful if:

  • it would be running inside of Windows Mobile (Silverlight for Windows Mobile still not relesaed despite many promises from Microsoft)
  • Handango was making in past already applications that put software catalog inside of Windows Mobile phone but their catalog was totally incomplete and Handango is ripping off developers with very high fees (Apple takes only 30% while Handango takes 50-60 %)! Microsoft could make some application store that offers also only 30% fee and makes it possible to browse and purchase applications inside of the phone but not: Microsoft was just making catalogs of software for mobile operators, not for end users
  • this directory application should have social component so that users could rank and comment on applications
  • the list of applications should be complete or near to complete and since even some of the most important applications for Windows Mobile are not listed at all (example: TomTom) this directory makes more damage than is useful!

What language was this translated from? It's a very awkward read. And while the issues brought up might be somewhat valid, the way it's presented makes it just seem like an attack instead of a criticism.
