Down in the bottom right of the window there's a drop-down (up[8-)]) list to zoom the page out or in. Don't think I've seen that anywhere else.

tao_muon: FYI, Maxthon has had that feature for quite a while now.

Unfortunately, the other browsers have these features already.

I for one, have children.  I like to keep them safe on the net, and using extensions in Firefox has allowed me to do just that.  I get one click weather (without using that adware WeatherBug), Ad/Filter blocking...and alot of other neat extensions, and colorful themes.  Been using tabbed browsing, as it's the only way to go when you need to view muliple pages, without having multiple instances of a browser open.

Content Advisor in IE, is just too difficult and irritating to use.  You have to type in a password for every page, every click...and if you shut off the 'using certificates' feature, (which you have to do if you don't want to type in a password just to get to the login screen on Hotmail (MSN sites don't have certificates))...then IE is left vulnerable to children wanting to visit inappropriate sites.  So, it's either block IE from the internet, or you don't.

Firefox leaves me feeling confident about it's use, and I don't have to buy or purchase Parental software for the internet.  It's fully intergratable into Thunderbird as well, letting you know when you have mail...there's just too much Firefox, and the other browsers have to offer that even IE7 will not have.

It's too late for this familyman,....IE just doesn't cut it anymore.

Though, don't let me or anyone else convince you otherwise...use what you see fit.

I can't install the beta 1 of IE7 because of my hungarian language system... [:(]

Do you know how can I fix this? [8-)]

May the beta 2 will work with my system?

gabor977 try this:

1. Open Regedit
2. Go to  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Nls\Language
3. Change the values of the keys "Default" and "InstallLanguage" to 0409
4. Reboot
5. Install IE7
6. Undo the modifications you did in step 3
7. Reboot

Hope it works[Y]

I tried both Firefox 1.5 and IE7 beta2 and IE7 beta2 is better than Firefox. On IE7 you have a built-in antiphishing filter, a page zoom, the quicktabs, and a lot of features are not present in Firefox. On Firefox you have to install a lot of plug-in to cover the lacks of the Firefox, for example just to see the proxy indication you have to download a plug-in and this is tedious! Internet Explorer 7 is the winner.[:P]

This is what makes Firefox shine...not lack.  Complete customization is the key, not "this is what we have, whether you like it or not".  Just because a feature is available, doesn't mean that it works...and in IE, if it doesn't you cannot remove it.  (addons not withstanding)

Compare how you get to your addons in IE vs FF.  Compare how you change themes in IE vs FF.

Tedious to install a plugin in FF...you're working WAY too hard, it's just two clicks!!  Select it, install it...then a quick restart and you're on your way.

A new security feature "fixed address bar" in IE sounds good right now, but it will become an irritation...almost all of MS's security features do because they are NOT customizable.  They are fixed.  No one I know likes fixed security options.  You might, but alot of us don't.

All I see is glamour.  A new look, but the same old IE.  There isn't any feature in IE7 that isn't already in another browser...whether it's tabbed browsing, or anti-phishing filters.  FF already warns me of clicking on links that could be dangerous...(such as the spam I got hit with - fake Paypal requests, FF warns not to follow thru on the links) and the new features coming in FF 2.0, and 3 will be even better.

@school 1012:

That is an addon that creates yet another toolbar...extensions used in FF are added to the bottom toolbar that already exists.  If you have this toolbar, Yahoo toolbar, Google search toolbar...etc, etc...you end up with a browser with half a page of toolbars...

Flexibility, increased security, and the option of my FF being different than my neighbors...is what makes this browser, or Opera...a much better option than being stuck using MS's branded only version of it's new browser.  Plus, I still don't see any Favorites buttons????  One click buttons instead of having to scroll thru your bookmarks...

Like I said, stick with IE if that's what you are comfortable with...but IE7 is not new...just has a new look.

Hey,

I'm in production of a knowledge base for Vista - so that people can find information on it and the latest patches and tweaks, as well as the new things such as technologies. I've got about 10 categories going and a few articles in each (not to mention a section on IE7!) - but it's open to other people's submissions and questions as well so that articles can be published from the questions we recieve.

Have a look - Click here to go to VistaBase [:)]

I really like Internet Explorer 7 but I just can't live without the Find As You Type feature in Firefox. Hopefully Microsoft will implement this feature, but I am sure that IE7 is now pretty close to feature complete.

It is also nice to see that Microsoft fixed something so that eBay TurboLister now works. It never used to work with Beta 1 of IE7. Turbolister would just freeze up.
