The delay was due to the shift to DX10, or maybe DX9, or whatever vista only stuff they decided to do. The original Xbox version is DX8 iirc.
And Halo2 is still played alot online.
The delay was mainly due to the exclusivity on XBOX, Microsoft wanted to have it as a console-only option before starting the porting process some time later. We see this again with the Windows Vista requirement.
The DX10 shift was more of an afterthought than a plan from the beginning, similar to the Games for Windows - LIVE premiere.
Greetings back at ya,
I think my Vista pc with 2gb is already excellent as is my xbox 360. I might check this out even though Halo 2 sits with all my other old xbox games. I feel that Halo 2 sucks on my 360 using my widescreen. I'm not one of those fools who enjoys stretched displays so I must force a 4:3 aspect ratio. IF this pc version supports widescreen, then it will be a no brainer to pick it up as a hold me over for Halo 3's release.
