Microsoft is making the Grisoft AVG Anti-Virus 7.5 and AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition packages available via the Windows Security Center channel as a Windows Vista security solution.

The products are available in the latest release of the Windows Vista beta program and will be available in the commercial release.

Ben Fathi, vice-president of the security technology unit at Microsoft, said, “Partners are critical to the success of our platform and the security of customers.”

The AVG products offer protection against a variety of cyber threats like viruses, Trojans, adware, diallers, keyloggers and worms. These products also include automatic updates and a single, user-friendly interface.

Edit:  Grisoft press release here.

Wow,  I really like AVG, I use the free version right now on my system.   This is great for them, pretty much a slap to the rest like McAfee and Symantec

This is great for AVG! Finally they get some big time recognition for a big time great product. The only problem is, the free version still doesn't work on 64 bit!!

About Spy

Hello world, as they say. I'm in Melbourne Australia and work as a Systems Administrator. I go to work every day with a smile on my face as I just love my work. Our company works across 30+ sites around the state so I travel a bit. We use mostly MS products, IBM hardware and 100% Cisco networking...it's a sweet mix for sure. I've been around Bink's site since it's inception way back when it was just a group on the MS site...that was a while ago. Bink.nu is the leading source of Microsoft news on the web that's for sure and I love being a part of Steven's team. Anyway, hope you enjoy the site.
