30 years ago, in 1975, the Altair “minicomputer” sold for US$397. This was without any sort of monitor or disk drive.

40 years ago, in 1965, a 2311 Disk Drive sold for $2,057 per Mb. In 1971, it went for $300 per Mb. In 2003, one Mb cost $0.005.

Microsoft currently has 640,000 partners in the Microsoft Partner Program.

In fiscal year 2005, 937 million air miles were booked through Microsoft's preferred global travel agency. This is equivalent to five round trip tickets to the sun and back, and 85 minutes at the speed of light.

The youngest current employee at Microsoft is 18 years old; the oldest is 74.

There are more than 2,000 bloggers at Microsoft.

More than 3 million internal e-mail messages are exchanged by Microsoft employees every day.

Approximately 42 million cans of soda have been consumed by employees since 1978, when the Microsoft tradition of free soda started.
