As expected and predicted...

Mary Jo Foley: Microsoft is going to christen Longhorn Server "Windows Server 2008." And it might do so as early as next week to coincide with the Windows Hardware Engineering Conference (WinHEC) in Los Angeles.

Windows Server 2008 How can Mary Jo be so sure?

Microsoft posted the new name on its Windows Hardware Engineering Conference (WinHec) 2007 press site. Here is the link to the site. (They indeed changed it back to Longhorn) so see the pic.

Why doesn't Microsoft announce it! It won't be a surprise to anyone.

didn't the same thing happen with "Windows Server 2007" a few weeks ago?

I think 2007 would be better because it'll look more mature faster meaning faster adoption. If they call it 2008, people will be suspicious until 2009.

Hahahha,  This never changes,  but as with Win2k3, wasn't it released late in 2002?  Like Sept or something?
