This download provides the DirectX end-user multi-languaged redistributable that developers can include with their product. The redistributable license agreement covers the terms under which developers may use the Redistributable. For full details please review the DirectX SDK EULA.txt and DirectX Redist.txt files located in the license directory.

The DirectX February 2007 End-User Redistributable download no longer contains DirectX components for Windows 98 & ME, meaning Win98 & ME users cannot install this download on their systems.  If you look at the System Requirements section for this download, the Supported OSes are Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 and Windows Vista.

I'm not sure if this redist. download works under Windows 2000 systems.  Win2000 users might want to give it a try.

Last DirectX redist. package to contain the latest DirectX components for Windows 98 & ME are the December 2006 Redist. package.
