Bill Gates Sells Another 3 Million Microsoft Shares

Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) Chairman Bill Gates reported selling another 3 million of his company's common shares, the third time he has done so this week.

Gates reported in a document filed Thursday with the Securities and Exchange Commission owning more than 988 million Microsoft shares after the latest sales, which took place on Tuesday.

Gates received about $80.9 million from the most recent sales, which brings the proceeds from the sale of a total of 9 million shares reported this week to about $245 million, according to data compiled by Washington Service.

Microsoft shares closed at $26.66 each on Thursday, down 25 cents from Wednesday's close.
