Internet Explorer 8 comes packed with new features designed to make browsing the web much easier and finding what you want much quicker. Matter of fact, based on my own experiences with IE8 these past few weeks, finding your "stuff" quicker is a very strong theme in IE8. I've discovered with IE8 that browsing the web is much more efficient. There are some brand new features in IE8 I'd like to call out, based on my own experiences that I think users will find very useful in browsing the web. I've found these features in IE8 so useful in fact that I am using IE8 Beta 2 on all my PCs. Keep in mind there are far too many new features and changes in IE8 for me to highlight in a single post. I'm only going to cover some of IE8's biggest new features and features I use the most.

MS should have a package to test IE8 without having to install it over v7. IE is too big of a product to install without making some decent changes to an install. I wouldn't want to build a VM just for this purpose, but I want to give it a shot.
I tried it........
For about half a split second.
Installed it over IE 7...... restarted. Launched IE 8 only to watch it shut down almost immediately... with a quick flash. Even watching it in Task Manager, it lasted but a second.
So... I uninstalled IE 8, restarted.. and guess what? Now IE 7 is hosed.
I just read the windowsvistablog and I'm really pleased for all the new features. I will not try to install it for now based on Morpheous experiences but I can say that most of the features sound very familiar to what is already available in Firefox (sorry it had to be said).
Of all the new features I give high praise to "Find in Page". I'm pleased that it works the same way as in Firefox and for a long time was upset that the feature was not included in IE7 to begin with.
I wish plug -in components were as extensive as they are for Firefox and hope the IE team keep working towards making IE more modular and less monolithic.
Morpheus, I am sorry to hear that. I think I might have jinxed you from my first comment...
Nah.... it's pretty much always been my run of luck.. to not have something not work right out of the box.. so to speak.
People thought I was crazy when I was having problems with Vista's file transfers or emptying the recycle bin.. it either took forever, or didn't complete at all.
MS released a patch to fix it just soon after....
Unfortunately now... I'm left with IE 6.. , which now, doesn't work with Windows update without freezing/crashing the browser. Thankfully.. I can just run the update service once a month and update that way. Otherwise, it's a new install and I'm not going that way again. What works for some, won't for others.. but that's why we have alternatives.
