Any idea on how to remove a local printer port on windows 2000 server?

Trying to add a printer, I have added it as a local port instead as a Standard TCP/IP port.  Sad thing is that it has the name I need to use and cannot add a new Standard TCP/IP port with the same name.
Want to remove the local printer port, but cannot, getting message:
"Selected port cannot be deleted.  Operation could not be completed."

Re: selected port cannot be deleted.operation could not be completed

Try to use another IP in conjunction with that port, or even a loopback adapter and try to delete it.

The last solution is to go to the Device Manager and Delete the Parallel port. When you refresh the Device Manager console it will be recreated.

    Hope this helps . . .
