    Network Scanning Using TWAIN driver

    Hi all,
Well i've more than 75 4in1 devices in my network and they are all installed on a server and shared for users....One of the options on these machines is network scanning, so all i had to do is to share a TWAIN driver on the network so clients have just to install it then simply can scan using any scanning software ( MS photo editor for example ).....Everything worked fine at the beggining, u click on the scan icon, PC searches for available scanners, gets a list of all detected scanners on the network ( that match the installed driver)....Now the problem is whenever i install the TWAIN driver on any new PC, and try to scan, search starts but ends up with an error message saying that no scanners are detected!!!!
Previous PC's ( that has the driver installed already a month ago) are still capable of scanning with no problems but not the new ones.....Driver is the same, PC's have the same configurations, operating systems (Mix Win2000\XP with firewall disabled), so what could've happened to the network that stopped the scanning service ??? Any suggestions?? is it the domain controller ?? is it any particullar protocol ( TCP\IP and netbios over TCP are enabled ) !!!!

One more thing, this morning i connected one of the machines directly to a PC using a crossed cable ( ethernet ) and scanning worked very fine !!!

All PC's and Scanners are on the same VLAN by the way...

    Any clues ????

Ugh, TWAIN should be renamed to PAIN!

I'll have to think about this one for a while, i'm not sure.

The standard solution is to use remotescan, which lets you share any sort of TWIAN device on any kind of network. If you are using Citrix or Terminal Services, you will need their TS/CX version, otherwise just the LAN version will do it.

There are something like 20,000 links and references to remotescan on the web, but their web site is
