click on start> run and type services.msc

in the services look for printer spooler and right click and stop it then try to delete the port.....

    hope it works for you.

    Wim,

If you leave it alone for some time, it will let go of the port and you can delete it.  However, sometimes one does not have time to wait.  Go to print spooler service and stop the service, then restart it.  After that, try to delete the port again.  This worked for me hopefully for you too.

    Re: Delete TCP/IP printer port

    Thanks all, it works.

I try to install my Printer (HP OfficeJet K80) to my router (Siemens Experia box from KPN 192.168.2.1) in the USB-port. The light of the USB port (on the box) is burning as sign he recognised the printer. I do exact what Siemens write for the set-ups but no results.

Please HELP. (Thanks in advance for your answer)

    Wim..

My sure your USB cable is not too long!  Otherwise, the light will seem to light up, but it will not work.  Get a shorter cable or a bust the signal with a USB hub.

     Hope this helps

If you haven't resolved this, I was able to do this by having the services and the port windows both open. I did a 'restart' on the services, then quickly deleted the port in the other window, before Windows decided to grab the port again and 'put it in use'. :)
