Windows Vista SP1 before end of the year

Microsoft has agreed to make changes to the design and function of Windows Vista in the area of desktop search, a person familiar with the deal told The Associated Press. The company will fold the changes into a beta version of a Service Pack software update by the end of the year, and will give computer makers the option to install non-Microsoft desktop search applications, said the person, who requested anonymity because the report had not been released.Hmmm, I thought that Vista SP1 would be released simultanoisly with the release of Windows 2008, which would mean MS should start beta testing right away. But now when the beta just starts end of 2007, we will not see final release at Windows 2008 RTM timeframe, but hopefully Q1 2008.Full story at source (more on Google desktop search case the SP1)
